Cannes Film Festival

Today we went to the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France.  We woke up, put on dresses, and got all dolled up for the festival.  We took the train from Antibes to Cannes around 2:00pm.  It was only about a 20 minute train ride which was nice.  We arrived in Cannes and walked from the train station to the water.  We walked along the coast and saw all the hotels that the celebrities were staying at such as the Ritz Carlton.  Each hotel had a movie billboard on it which meant that a celebrity from that movie was staying at that hotel.  A few of my fellow classmates saw/touched Patrick Dempsey and Penelope Cruz (I'm very jealous).  On the beaches were huge white tents with fancy white furniture where the stars and VIP were eating and drinking and lounging.  After walking along the coast, we went a few streets in and found a nice little cafe to eat lunch at--I got a chicken sandwich on french bread with cheese, tomato and lettuce (still a litle iffy about eating some of the food they serve around here ha)! After lunch, we headed in the opposite direction towards the red carpet.  We took a bunch of pictures in front of the red carpet.  We saw a French actor signing autographs but we weren't sure who he was.  After seeing all the main attractions of the film festival, we hiked up MANY steps to the top of this old fort/church? to see a beautiful view of all of Cannes.  I will put up pictures as soon as I get a chance!!! It was such a beautiful day outside, 75 and sunny.  It was a great day and Cannes was absolutely breathtaking!  I might go back if I get another free day.  Hope everyone else has had a good week!  Love and miss you all.
